Say goodbye to your weekend, and hello to Fortnite’s Solo Showdown

The limited time event gives Fortnite users their first taste in the a ranked setting.

Yesterday, the Fortnite Team posted on Epic’s official website revealing their newest limited time mode: Solo Showdown.

Trying to prove yourself on the battlefield? Queue up for the Solo Showdown mode for a hotly contested Battle Royale experience. Unlike other LTMs, Solo Showdown will not change core gameplay of the current Solo mode. Instead, you will be placed against other self-selected competitors making this the ultimate test of survival.

The newest Fortnite mode gives competitive players their first real “ranked competitive” feel of the game. Fortnite has also introduced awards for the top 100 of their best solo players.

1st Place:  50,000 V-Bucks

2nd – 4th  Place:  25,000 V-Bucks

5th – 50th Place:  13,500 V-Bucks

51st – 100th Place:  7,500 V-Bucks

How to Compete

Competing is pretty easy. You just need to own and install the game on your platform of choice. Change the gamemode to Solo Showdown, and voila, you are in the running against some of Fortnite’s best players to compete for a huge prize pool.

The only catch to this is your first 50 games are the only ones that count for points. But if you are worthy of the massive 50,000 V-Bucks prize, this will be no problem!

*Solo Showdown ends on 05/21 at 10:00am ET

This is 1 of many Fortnite events we have had in Season 4 so far. If you would like to catch up and see what changes have been made since Season 3, check out our earlier article on it here;
