New events are something every Pokémon Go player loves to do and participate in! This month, the developers, Niantic, have announced this month’s events, featuring research days, raid days, shiny Pokémon and lots more!
The first event will take place on the 1st of Feb until the 29th. This will be a Special Research event and will allow for trainers to get their hands on the shadow legendary, Raikou!
The second event will allow for players to get their hand on the Pokémon, Woobat, and will also be receiving bonus candies. This will be available starting on the 1st of Feb, until the 1st of March, and will be available as a Research Breakthrough encounter!
Love shiny Pokémon? On the 2nd of Feb, Year of the Rat themed Pokémon will be appearing in the wild, as well as Minccino & its’ Shiny will also be made available to catch!
On the 4th of Feb, you will be able to fight against the legendary Tornadus in 5-star raids! This will continue until the 24th of Feb!
Surprises are always fun in the world of Pokémon Go, as on the 4th of Feb, 6pm-7pm, a surprise Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild!
On the 6th of Feb, 6pm-7pm, players will be in a Mystery Bonsu Hour, where a mystery bonus will be active during the event hour!
The Sinnoh Celebration Event will be taking place on Feb 7th – 10th, where Sinnoh Pokémon will be appearing in 7 km eggs & Field Research Shiny Riolu & Hippopotas will be released!
Valentine’s Day Celebration will take place on the 14th of Feb – 17th! Pink Pokémon will be appearing more often in the wild, in raids, in Eggs, and as Field Research encounters. During this event, regular Lure Modules will last six hours and you’ll receive a 2× Catch Candy bonus
Lickitung will be in 4-star raids during the Lickitung Raid Day on the 15th of Feb! Lickitung will also know Body Slam, you will be able to receive up to 5 raid passes during the day. Niantic will also be releasing Shiny Lickitung!
During the Special Friendship Weekend Event, 21st of Feb – 24th, you will gain access to these boosts;
- Friendship levels will increase faster
- 2x Trade Candy
- 1/2 Trade Stardust cost
- The number of Gifts you can open daily will increase to 40.
- The number of Gifts you can carry in your inventory will increase to 20.
On the 22nd of February, the Community day will take place, featuring the winning Pokémon from the Voting Day! You will also have a bonus x3 Catch Stardust!
