This week, Ndemic Creations released a statement on the recent outbreak of Coronavirus after a spike of activity on their hit game and website, Plague Inc.
Plague Inc often experiences huge amounts of activity following disease outbreaks due to the nature and theme of the game, spread a bacteria, virus or disease as fast as possible throughout the world while evolving the symptoms and resistance to infect and kill the population of the world. It’s actually a lot less morbid than it sounds.
Ndemic Creations also credits this due to “people [seeking] to find out more about how diseases spread and [to] understand the complexities of viral outbreaks.”
Our website is currently offline due to very high player numbers. I'm copying our statement on the coronavirus outbreak here so people can still see it.https://t.co/pA6CUS7nJI pic.twitter.com/StXP6aemDe

People have created custom scenarios inside the game that have the same qualities of the Coronavirus, and appropriately titled in the game as the 2020 Wuhan Coronavirus, that we are seeing being spread around countries at the moment, which has caused for some people creating ‘simulations’ that try to mimic the Coronavirus.
Memes relating to the situation involving Plague Inc has flooded twitter;
