GTA V Reportedly to be Free to Play on the Epic Games Store

With a mass amount of players returning to GTA V due to isolation, it wouldn’t be too farfetched to assume that Rockstars prized game, Grand Theft Auto V, will be available to play and download free of charge on the Epic Games Store.
According to a reputable source, Games Pressure has been informed that “we will be able to download Grand Theft Auto V for free on the EGS from tomorrow (May 14) through May 21.”
The rumours surrounding the free release also tells us that the game will arrive as the Premium Edition, which not only includes access to the game itself but also Grand Theft Auto Online and large amounts of content!
Despite released 7 years ago, GTA V is still pulling impressive numbers, with over 120 million total copies sold, 10 million of those copies sold between May 2019 and February 2020. GTA V has also not left the US top-twenty chart of best selling video games in nearly 80 months, with the game climbing to the 7th spot in March.
The games financial situation has also benefited throughout the years as 2019 was bigger than 2018 in terms of the game’s monetization, and we can only assume that the F2P release will encourage more players to spend big bucks through micro-transactions.
