LPL, New Zealand’s leading esports media company; has announced the inaugural Dota 2 High School League Holiday Cup.
Following on from the success of previous High School League tournaments; LPL is thrilled to introduce a new game to the league in an exciting one-time esports event; held shortly after secondary school exams in both Australia and New Zealand.
Registrations are now open for high school students across ANZ; with the opportunity for more than one team per school to compete. The first round of matches will begin on Saturday 1st December, with a grand final event hosted on Saturday 8th December. The top two teams from the initial seeds will battle it out in a best-of-three event on grand final day with the chance to win NZD $1,000.
The HSL gives an opportunity for secondary school students to compete in a competitive esports environment working together as a team and representing their school.
“HSL has been really successful so far – this year bringing more school teams into esports than ever before. We’ve been really excited to open our arms once again and bring in more teams from across the Tasman. The HSL team is looking forward to seeing students showcase their passion and teamwork together; now, for the first time in HSL history, in Dota 2.”
