Borderlands 3’s First Campaign DLC Announced

Borderlands 3 is an amazing game. Not only has it had one huge free Halloween event, but now its first of four pieces of campaign DLC has been announced and it looks like we’re heading to space Vegas! Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot is coming on December 19 and promises a lot of lootin’, shootin’ and gamblin’ fun.

Moxxi, our favourite buxom bartender, has recruited the Vault Hunters to take control of a derelict Hyperion space station built by Handsome Jack. Possibly the gaudiest gambling den in the galaxy, full of neon signs, slot machines and images of Jacks incredibly handsome face plastered everywhere, through holograms and gold statues. It’s also full of Hyperion staff who’ve been trapped onboard ever since Jack’s death. So, you know, that’s probably not great for them.
It’s an entirely new destination, full of a cast of entirely new characters recruited by Moxxi to help pull off the heist of a lifetime. There’ll also be heaps of secrets to uncover through new quests, sidequests and crew challenges, as well as a blast from the past in being able to battle all kinds of nasty Hyperion forces, which will include some all-new enemies and bosses for you to shoot in their stupid faces.
And, as usual, this also means plenty of new loot as well as plenty of new cosmetics, hopefully, things that will be just as gaudy as the casino.

The DLC will be accessible by characters that are at least level 13 and have left Pandora on Sanctuary III for the first time, which means it’s available to players faster than ever.
Hopefully, a big Jack style casino means we’ll be seeing plenty of this nasty asshole and his stupid face, and maybe even get a glimpse of characters like Timothy, the Doppelganger from Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and whose face was only seen on posters plastered all throughout the main Borderlands 3 game. The other cool feature is it looks like this uses a lot of the concepts from a cancelled Pre-Sequel DLC called Luxy’s Space Adventure, which was meant to be a sort of gaudy cruise ship in space. So that’s cool!
For those who haven’t played the game, there’s a free weekend coming up for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on November 21-24!
And, for those of you who have the game and want some more endgame content, Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite is going to be an entirely new, entirely free raid style challenge intended for co-op players of four, max level characters that’ll be coming in the future.
So, a lot of Borderlands content is still being thrown at us at all times to keep us busy with the game. And I haven’t even finished all the base game quests yet!
