50 v 50 Limited Time Mode Returns to Fortnite Battle Royale

Epic Games announced that Fortnite Battle Royale’s popular 50v50 Limited Time Mode is making a return; with a whole host of new improvements. Players can also earn double the XP from Thursday, April 19th until Sunday, April 22.

50v50 is available to play right now, and in this new version, each team has a bus that approaches from opposite directions of the map. On the map, the friendly bus has a blue outline, and the enemy has red.
The final storm circle is visible on the mini-map from the start, and players are given 10 minutes to loot the map as the storm closes in on the circle, then 5 minutes to fight, and another 5 minutes as the storm shrinks to the end.  Supply drops come in batches of 3-6, fall every two minutes, and only land in the final storm circle.
A dotted line has been added to the map to indicate “battle lines” between the two teams. While players can cross the line, this will make running into enemies more likely! Other tweaks have been made, including increases to resource gathering, item spawns, ammo, and more.

This weeks v3.5 Content Update also introduces a powerful new weapon to Battle Royale, the Light Machine Gun. This weapon’s fast rate of fire and 100 round magazine can keep squads pinned down from a distance!

This mode and new weapon launches with Fortnite content update v3.5, which also includes the replay mode and various updates to the game. For more information on the patch and Fortnite as a game, head here

There were plenty of ANZ streamers in on the Battle Royale action, including popular favourites Bajo and Loserfruit. Loserfruit and her squad scored two wins on the night, and you can catch some of her highlights below. Look for more #FortniteFriendlies to be announced soon!
