Xbox reveals which optimised games will be available to play on Next Gen launch day

Xbox Wire has revealed the launch day lineup for the Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S. Technically the list is in the thousands thanks to Xbox’s long-running commitment to backwards compatibility, but 30 games will be optimised for Next-Gen performance from launch. These games include the Next-Gen era titles of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Watch Dogs: Legion, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Gears Tactics, and Tetris Effect: Connected. 10 games will be Next-Gen era, while a further 20 will be optimised through the Smart Delivery system, which allows Xbox One games to look and feel like they were made for Next-Gen consoles.
Shortly after the launch of the Series X/S, Xbox players will be able to get their hands on Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War (Nov 13), and Destiny 2: Beyond Light will technically be playable from launch (and can be accessed through Gamepass) but won’t be optimised for Next-Gen until December 8th. And let’s not forget that a mere 9 days after the Launch of Next-Gen players will be able to FINALLY get their hands on Cyberpunk 2077, which will look and play best on the Series X/S, but will make use of Smart Delivery to ensure that you will have access to the best possible version of the game no matter what generation of Xbox you buy it for.
