It’s that time of year again, New Zealand’s biggest Gaming and Pop culture event Armageddon Auckland! Not sure where to go or what to keep an eye out for? No need to worry because we’ve got you covered! Here’s a list of activities in no particular order:
#1: LPL esports arena
Last year saw the debut of this event and 2017 see’s it coming back with a bang with Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds, League Of Legends, Counter-Strike and Gran Tourismo Sport. Not only can you witness some of the ANZ regions top esports stars play, but there will be public free play times available!
#2: Card game tournaments
Cardfight!!! Vanguard host tournaments through to Monday. You can also learn how to play and receive FREE STUFF!
At the Magic: The Gathering Booth Collect your free Magic sample decks and have our volunteers help you start playing. Commemorate your visit to Ixalan and collect your free photo souvenir or earn rewards playing friendly matches in the Intro Duelling Zone.
#3: PlayStation NZ’s epic booth!
Every year PlayStation NZ outdo themselves with all the latest games, VR experiences and usually an amazing live DJ!
#4: Star Wars in AR with Lenovo Jedi Challenges
Ever wanted to be a Jedi and go face to face with Darth Vader? Imagined playing holochess just like Chewbacca? Well, you can now experience that with Lenovo Jedi Challenges at the Lenovo booth as well as see the latest Legion by Lenovo gaming PC’s and meet the one and only FaZe Hazz!
#5: ALL. THE. GAMES.
Every year Armageddon Auckland features the best new releases from the biggest brands in gaming. This year’s confirmed games so far: Assassins Creed Origins, Farcry 5, Destiny 2, Call Of Duty WW3, and an appearance from Nintendo!
#6: Master Chief and Cortana IRL!!
…Well the voice actors for Halos Master Chief and Cortana.
Steve Downes and Jen Taylor will be in attendance to sign goodies and photo ops!
#7: Movie Stars
All the movie stars….
#8: Merch Stalls
Every year there is a great selection of stalls ranging from the awesome official movie, Tv and Gaming brands to the questionably authentic.
Be sure to pick up a bargain (or ten)
#9: Cosplay
This is the New Zealand cosplay communities time to shine!
And this year not only will you local cosplayers in their best TV, Film and Gaming costumes but also 4 international cosplay stars!
