The hugely successful and popular co-op, first person shooter video game, PAYDAY 2, developed by Overkill Studios and published by 505 Games, is about to be playable anywhere, anytime and with anyone when it releases on Nintendo Switch in February next year. Australian and New Zealand gamers had best mark their calendars, as the game will be available on the Switch from February 23rd, a few days earlier ahead of the U.S. release.
This will be the first time ever that the game will be playable on a Nintendo console, available both digitally and as a physical cartridge.
PAYDAY 2 adds a twist to the classic style of first person shooters, allowing players to play as members of a criminal gang as they go on a spree of heists across Washington D.C.
With more than 5.4 million community members on Steam, PAYDAY 2 received positive reviews and has had more than 160 paid and free updates since its release in August, 2013.
Since the franchise first launched in 2011 with PAYDAY: The Heist, both games have sold more than 16 million units across PC, SteamOS, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with more sales expected upon PAYDAY 2’s release on Nintendo Switch.
There is also a PAYDAY 2 VR game, which is now also available in beta for HTC Vive and other headsets via Steam.
