Hector ‘H3CZ’ Rodriguez reacquires OpTic Gaming

Yes, you read the title correctly. 13 months ago, H3cz sold OpTic to Immortals Gaming Club and it felt like the end of an era, with incredibly somber goodbye videos, and many COD fans feeling sad – H3cz let go of OpTic.
But today, announced at 4am AEDT, Hecz has reacquired OpTic Gaming! They will be returning to the Cod World League and the Chicago Huntsmen have rebranded to OpTic Chicago.

Seth ‘Scump’ Abner, Matthew ‘FormaL’ Piper, who both won the world championship under OpTic in 2017, will be competing with Brandon ‘Dashy’ Otell and Dylan ‘Envoy’ Hannon, Envoy will become a member of the Green Wall for the first time.

There have been some incredibly touching tweets this morning from members such as hitchariide who was apart of OpTic for 4-5 years:

and Scump uploaded a video giving us a taste of his old youtube intros:

This also means, that for the first time since Black Ops 4, 100 Thieves and OpTic will be facing each other. The prodigy Nadeshot, who grew with OpTic and was once H3cz’s business partner, is the owner of 100 Thieves.

On a personal note, I am very excited and honestly, a little emotional knowing OpTic is back. I can’t wait to see how the 2021 COD season goes!
