The Golden Guardians to attend Melbourne Esports Open 2019

Australia’s biggest festival of esports, the Melbourne Esports Open, will be presenting the ‘gold class’ of teams, with the Golden Guardians heading to Melbourne to take part.

The legendary League of Legends LCS team, Golden Guardians are heading down under and thanks to ESL, TEG Live and Riot Games who have partnered to bring the North American team to Australia’s shores.
The Open takes place on 31st August and 1st September at Melbourne Olympic Park and will host the OPL League of Legends Grand Final: https://melbourneesportsopen.com.au/

Golden Guardians to attend MEO
The Golden Guardians, the LCS affiliate team of the Golden State Warriors (NBA). Will take part in an exhibition match prior to the OP Grand Final on Saturday 31st August. The team’s exhibition squad consists of both LCS and Academy players, including:

  • Kevin “Hauntzer” Yarnell,
  • Cristian “Palafox” Palafox,
  • Anthony “Hard” Barkhovtsev; and
  • home-grown hero Victor “FBI” Huang.

In addition, coach Nick “Inero” Smith will be in attendance.
This exhibition match will showcase the skills of some of the best in the game, creating excitement amongst League fans and players around Australia.
Player FBI will be returning to his home turf this competition, being the first Australian to play in the LCS. After playing in the League of Legends team ‘Bomber’ and winning the OPL Split, FBI moved onto play for the Golden Guardians, making moves for the Australian international scene.

And for all those fans, there will be a ‘Meet & Greet’ session available at the event.
