David Gaider, talented writer, gay icon, and all-around very nice man, has been announced to headline the PAX Aus Storytime Keynote, which will basically be David Gaider reflecting on his time in the industry as well as where he’s going in the future, and all kinds of fun industry things in a way only he could deliver in his masterful words, which we will hopefully not get lost in, in the same way, we get lost in his games and/or eyes.
Not 100% sure what he’s done in the past, but have a feeling his name is a little familiar to you? It should be. David was Bioware’s lead writer and brought to life the world of Thedas, as we saw it in the Dragon Age series, as well as helping to bring to life every entry in the series. As well as that, you’d probably be familiar with his work in other games like Neverwinter Nights and Baldur’s Gate II, as well as a bunch of novels and comics set in the Dragon Age series. Basically, if you’re a Bioware fan, you should probably get your butt over to this storytime.
Extremely proud to tell you all that I’m co-founder of @summerfallgames, a new indie studio here in Melbourne! The announcement of our first project and its Kickstarter will be taking place at @PAXAus – sign up at https://t.co/evhIMAh8qU to learn more! pic.twitter.com/NtJugu6Bxu

As if that’s not enough, he’ll also likely be talking about his newest project here in Australia, co-created with Liam Esler, Summerfall Studios. Gaider is set to announce just what their flagship title will be at the keynote, but what we do know is that it will be an “illustrated, character-driven adventure”. And given his history with amazing character writing, and what looks like an amazing team, it’ll probably be a pretty darn good game.
