What’s happening at gamescom 2017

Gamescom will be running this year on the 22nd-26th of August. If you haven’t heard of gamescom before, this is how the event describes itself:

gamescom is Europe’s leading business platform of the games industry and the global 360 degree event for digital gaming culture. It is the best-in-class show for games, as well as the central trade and media platform for networking business development, sales, press and community in one place.

Who’s going to be at gamescom?

Big names are to be expected at the event such as Nintendo, BANDAI NAMCO, Microsoft and Sony. Of the main game devs these include EA, Bethesda, Blizzard and Ubisoft. For hardware companies, Alienware, HP, HTC Vive and NVIDIA are some that will be exhibiting.
Some noteworthy exhibitors include Huawei and Carl Zeiss.

There are going to be some fascinating talks during the main public keynote section of gamescom as well:

Gamescom 2017 loves indie devs

Gamescom’s indie pavilion is going to be over 1,000 square meters and will be the largest indie gaming area the event has had.

Over 70 developers are represented in the INDIE ARENA BOOTH in 2017, including teams from Germany, Finland, France, Indonesia, Canada, Croatia, Russia, Singapore, Spain, South Africa, the Ukraine and the USA.

Not to mention, Humble Bundle will also be presenting its own indie title via its new publishing division.
