The Oceanic (OCE) region is set for a bumper weekend of esports action with Throwdown Esports’ PUBG and Rocket League finals taking place on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 respectively. Both competitions will provide local teams a pathway to the global finals with a total prize pool of US$1.25M (AUD$1.765M).
Starting the weekend’s action at midday (12pm AEDT) on Saturday October 13 is thePredator PUBG OCE Open Series Powered by Throwdown Esports. 18 teams will battle it out across seven games for a local pot of AUD$15K. The winning squad will also receive automatic qualification to the Predator League finals being held in Thailand, and the chance to stake a claim for part of the US$250K prize pool.
After a hard-fought qualifying season, the 18 OCE teams who earned their place in the final include;

Shattered Facade and Extricity progressed through wild cards by being a team with the most kills but had not qualified.
Then straight after the Battle Royale action on Saturday, the Rocket League OCE Championship final will kick off at midday (12pm AEDT) on Sunday October 14. After eight weeks of league play, the four best teams will now play a double elimination bracket to decide the Rocket League OCE Champions and a share of the local US$50K prize pool. Two teams will also progress to the RLCS World Championship and the mammoth pot of US$1M up for grabs.

With two teams progressing, it is worth noting they have a 50% chance of heading to theRLCS Season 6 World Championship where they’ll compete for their share of the US$1M prize.
